Our client found us online and arranged to visit the studio and after a successful visit they invited us to visit the property to discuss in more detail. The house is a very traditional listed manor house with beautiful original features that were sadly missing in the existing kitchen. The intention was to incorporate these back into the design.

The building work consisted of installing a new, slightly lowered ceiling and installing age appropriate ceiling coving. The existing floor material was removed and replaced with new, extra-large format limestone slabs. With a new power and lighting scheme the room was ready to take to the new handmade, shaker-style kitchen.

As part of the project the existing utility room was turned into a Butler’s Pantry with the utility items moved into another part of the house.

With the addition of appliances from Sub-zero, Aga and Miele, and bespoke window seats, this kitchen is now a place that can be enjoyed more and more upon each use.

We were asked to oversee a new kitchen for the 16th century house that we’re fortunate enough to look after.

We decided to ask three companies to come and assess the project and present ideas, costings, timescales etc. The decision to go with Stephen Graver was an extremely easy one after our initial meeting at the house. Stephen instantly understood what the owner of the house wanted to change the kitchen into and offered a myriad of great ideas to transform the old and tired kitchen into a wonderful place to be.

This was a major refurbishment, involving new floor, underfloor heating, plumbing, electrics, furniture, everything. Stephen provided a clear vision of how the project would unfold and his expert and professional tradesmen began work. We had numerous members of Stephen’s team working on the project and without exception, they were all superb. The kitchen was completed bang on schedule and is everything that the lady that owns the house dreamed it would be. The quality of the workmanship and attention to detail is absolutely stunning. Everyone that has seen the room, has remarked on how beautiful it is.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Stephen Graver to anyone who desires a beautiful, bespoke kitchen finished to the highest possible standard.
