The first thing to do was to find the key ingredients for the design, always different but an essential. For this project we started with the handles and hinges. Chunky chrome pull handles and hinges fitted the bill, and these dictated a chunky door and a strong frame to balance their size and impact.
Materials were considered at length, the kitchen needed to be practical and family orientated as well as being stylish and elegant. The overall colour scheme was to be calm and light. This palette lent itself to painted cabinets with marble worktops and stainless steel accents.
The posts on the island all had stainless steel feet, which were sourced and manufactured locally to our design. The Sub-Zero fridge and Wolf range supplied a strong visual device, which defines the style of the kitchen.
